Oldie but goodie, ready to flash and repurpose for 2020 onwards
This is an oldie but goodie. I bought one of these very recently, as soon as it got here I wired it up and wiped the stock firmware, this router is quite old these days, and has no security fixes from the decade or so past. Flashing it with dd-wrt makes this router infinitely better. Configured it to act as a 5-port switch, extended my network for my PS4 and wired PC without having to screw about with WiFi (disabled WiFi entirely)
One must be 100% positive the dir825 they're buying is of the "B1" revision, dd-wrt is not stable with rev A, nor rev C, rev B2 yields mixed results, B1 I've ran for years and can vouch for its stability under dd-wrt.
