Dated but still solid tech!
Bench-tested this the day after receiving it and it posted immediately. After adding drives and fiddling with the bios settings a bit, effortlessly created an array. Easy set up for a home server (my purpose). Note: It is IDE based hardware. You'll need to use IDE drives you have, or find probably refurbished drives. (I do not know if sata bridge boards and drives will work in this application). Also, I don't know about setting up more than 4 drives. My raid array (4 drive) is 0+1. Note also... Linux sets up with it effortlessly! This seller included the IO-shield and a pci riser board. You will not find these easily if they are not included with yours! (I have tried.) After all... it is dated tech. :) Dated or not, a solid and a cheap easy way to set up a home server!

Well Made and Does the Job!
Know what you are getting and why! This does exactly what I needed, but be aware, the length exceeds the IDE spec. For an optical drive, or for slower data rates on EARLY IDE hardware, you may get by, but the fasted IDE requires 80 wires (the extras are ground wires to reduce signal bleed by induction between the main wires). And total length of the cable should not exceed 18 inches. As I said... I knew what I was doing when I ordered this. You should make sure it will work for your application before ordering. If it will serve for your need/application, then order with confidence. These are well made cables.
