A Great Piece of History That Fits In Your Hand
2 of 2 found this helpful I enjoy history, especially Civil War history, and I recently started a collection of Civil War relics. My recent acquisition is this Washington Arsenal Confederate Star Minee Ball. It has an interesting history to it: being manufactured and distributed in the North and then used in the South. It's a little piece of history with an interesting story tied to it.

Ken Burn's Civil War documentary piece, Ashokan Farewell/Easy piano
I was looking around for something challenging, yet not too difficult, for my piano student. This piece was exactly what I was looking for! It came before the time they predicted. I am very happy with this piece and transaction.

A Great Piece of Music
This piece, "Ashokan Farewell," was one of the songs played on the PBS documentary, "The Civil War." It was written by Jay Unger as a violin/fiddle piece that captured the feeling of the era of the Civil War in America.
This arrangement for piano is written for easy piano--somewhere between late beginner to the early intermediate level. Although it's written for piano, it still captures the essence of the violin/fiddle that it was meant for.
It's a hauntingly beautiful piece of music, easy to play, and priced right. I highly recommend this!
