Minecraft: PlayStation 3 Edition (Sony PlayStation 3, 2014)

    Seriously? You don't know Minecraft?
Minecraft is a timeless classic already. It has been available for 8 years in some format (possibly even longer) so the graphics don't look up to much, but tbh if you try it with better graphics it just doesnt look right. When you first start out and it becomes your first night hiding in a little wooden shack with monster noises all around you, that is real fear. For such a basic looking game, it can really make you sweat. The Playstation 3 version, and Xbox 360 are complete now - in that any future additions to the game apparently wont be coming to this version, the aquatic update is the last major update and what an update. You could travel the world and now you can travel the seas, find buried treasure, sunken ships and ruins. There is so much to do and see due to the procedurally generated world. Now this versions(xbox too) have a very limited world size, unlike Bedrock. But tbh this can work in your favour, whereas in Java or Bedrock it can be 10,000 blocks away to the nearest temple on this its usually on your doorstep. If you're looking for Minecraft and have a PS3 (or 360) you can't do wrong. But if you have the technology to play the PS4 and Xbox one then get those versions instead. Bedrock is latest version and the one thsts getting all the updates. Ps4 doesnt have bedrock yet, but hopefully soon.

    Fallout 4 - XBOX ONE

    Fallout 4 Xbox one X
I bought this because it has dropped recently to sub £5 if you shop around. For that money you get a helluva lot of content. I am not the biggest fan of the Fallout games, much preferring the swords and sorcery of the Elder Scrolls. I have really been enjoying what I've played so far, the base building and collecting all sorts of random crap is probably my favourite part - the combat is what ruins it for me, no matter how good YOU are at aiming a gun you can still miss some shots unless you use your limited VATS but I like my combat to be more instantaneous. Give me a sword to swing at someones head anyday. There is no denying the workmanship that has gone into creating a believable Post apocalyptic world and graphically on the Xbox one X it looks as good as on the pc for me (My pc can't do 4k yet) you will often be surprised at how colourful the world is with some really beautiful skies. I will profess and this is my problem with the game, if you don't have much spare time then its really hard to do anything. Took me about an hour to get in game in the first place and it can take a good 10 - 15 minutes to even arrive at a story location, and then you need to add on time to complete it. Luckily you can save whenever you like and carry on from that exact point, otherwise I would not be able to play it at all - I am lucky if I can grab 1 hour a day for gaming these days. If you've never played Fallout and have got a lot of time on your hands, you could do a lot worse than spending a fiver on picking this up for your hard earned money you will be getting a lot of hours of play as long as you can get to grips with the combat system. Roll on the next Elder Scrolls!
