Wrong question. Doesn’t make sense.
Don’t know why I’m reviewing this really. I haven’t compared it to anything. I have no idea of the science of it but it seems to work ok and makes your guitar smell nice for a day or so.

Moen GEC8 live
I was pretty concerned buying a somewhat budget unit for this job but it does a good job and I forgive a few things when taking price into consideration. THE GOOD:- it does what it's supposed to, fairly easy to programme, cleans up my signal chain with effects, gets me using way more combinations than I would without it because I know I can get back to a clean patch, it's much smaller than many of the high end units, its about half to quarter of the price of some high end units. THE BAD:- I do notice a very slight difference in the clean signal when going through the GEC8 rather than straight in to the amp.. but its minimal.. and I'm a tone geek running a vintage fender amp. Some of the patching options need external patch leads which seems a bit daft. Programming the ridiculously named 'emotion' switch seems to defy the units logic circuits .. It's possible but needs a certain amount of guess work.. Maybe a software update is needed. The midi implementation is limited. The 2nd midi output could have been configured as a din amp switching output (useful for my other amp) but this needed to have been done at the factory... DuUHH!!
Things you need to know when you get one ... You'll need about 3 times(at least) the number of patch leads.. And decent ones are expensive. You'll probably need a much bigger pedal board and it will take a few sleepless nights to sort it out into a logical streamlined unit.... But!! Once you do and spend some time with it learning how to use it best.. I'm now getting some sounds I've missed for years from my old rack unit days. But can switch straight back to an overdrive into a vintage amp. I'm loving it on gigs. (2 with it so far).

Spider budget pedal board.
Well.. it says budget. Spider also make good quality pro gear at a higher price. But this is really quite flimsy and lasted me about a year. Bits have started unglueing and moving around. In retrospect, a budget flightcase is just silly. It’s going to get knocked around even though most of my use was back of a car. Pay out for something more solid would be my advice.
