Poor packaging makes for sticky plastics
1 of 1 found this helpful This is a wonderful model but the packaging damages it. It comes packed in styrofoam which out gasses chemical fumes that react with the plastics and make them sticky. It also causes the clear protective stickers over the emblems to bond to the emblem and when you remove them they take the emblem with them. What’s the point of protecting it? The longer you leave this car, or any diecast car in styrofoam the worse the damage will be. It’s cumulative and worsened by storage in non airconditioned spaces. If you as a collector have any cars still stored in styrofoam , I’d get them out. Things I like, The rear license plate is hinged to cover the gas filler cap. The 45 record player is included as is the aero steering wheel, which were both just options. This is a great car as I said, it just suffered from packaging that ultimately damaged it. For the money.. I’d stay away
