Queen QN56 Small Work Horse Dual Blade Folding Knife 3.5" Closed Delrin Handle

    Good knife, just over priced.
I picked one ot these up a while back. The one I received was well put together. However, the spring for the main blade was a little on the weak side. This ended up having no effect ot the knife's utility. The blades are on the thin side, but take a wonderful edge. 1095 is a good steel and I prefer carbon steel to stainless. I abused this by using it to scrape paint off another knife blade, but when I was done it sharpened up just fine. I then proceeded to cut up six large cardboard boxes. The knife performed admirably and held its edge well. The proud rivets in the bolsters are a concession to cost cutting, as are the Delrin scales and thinner blades. Nevertheless, these Workhorse knives are considerably more expensive than some other similarly constructed American pocket knives. And clearly some folks don't care for the exposed rivets. I like the fact that it is a jack knife, as this type is my favorite. A good main blade and pen blade are pretty much all I need for day to day cutting chores. It is a good knife, but the price is not competitive in my opinion.

    A tough work-horse of a knife.
I am familiar with the designer's philosophy on creating this knife. It was meant to be a useful tool with fighting qualities. That's because we usually use the knives we own for work: whittling, slicing, dicing, chopping, etc. The combative use of the knife is (thankfully) rare for most of us. Mine showed up very well put together and pleasingly sharp. The G10 scales are very well textured and even if they weren't the shape of the knife locks it well into the hand. The liner lock is slightly recessed so that you have to reach in a bit to purposefully unlock the blade to close it. This is a good folding knife for use in the field and would make a stout, sharp defensive knife if needed. It would make a good point pressure tool as well as a last ditch lethal force option. Some of you will find it ugly, bulky and heavy. You are welcome to your opinion. However, the more I use it, the more I like it.

Nice low cost American made field knife.
Sturdy and sharp out of the box, this is a solid and tough knife. I think the synthetic handle put some folks off. The handle is very tough, and feels good in the hand. Had they used removable Micarta scales and gave it a lanyard hole, I think it would have fared better. This is marketed as a hunting knife, but it will do more than just skin game. It is a nice field knife as well. The sheath is decent and is hand sewn leather with a rigid insert. For about fifty bucks, its a great bargain. It is out of production, so get one while you can!
