Solid, but not the best.
0 of 4 found this helpful I don't know what year this was made. It has no phono input. It is clean and good looking. I tested it against Harmon Kardon PT2300 preamp thinking it would sound better coupled with my Adcom amplifiers. I liked the sound I got from my HK better, cleaner and more expansive. The HK also has phono input and subwoofer outs, left and right, which the Adcom lacks. It is a solid unit, but I came away a bit dissappointed compared to the HK.

Revolution
CD has a few nice songs-'Gone', and a couple others but lacks any strong listening power. It could use more songs with the nice beats of the mentioned hit, Gone. Her voice is nice enough though she sometimes seem to yell.

solid old school performer
5 of 5 found this helpful This a a fine piece of equipment near the audiophile level. It is a bit old school but looks clean and simple like some of the upper line modern players. I played it against an old Carver and it 'hits' harder but is not as smooth overall. Great lows with good stereo seperation, no hiss, low distortion if at all. The front panel allows yout to manually select songs, not completely dependent on the remote like so many modern players. I like the sound of dedicated cd players over dvd/cd players because it is smoother and more music oriented versus the hard digital sound of dvd players. This one has good headroom, the ability to handle the sudden high energy bursts of music. Unless one is willing to plug down near $500 for a Marantz or Cambridge modern player I would go old school on one like this.
