It works as expected
I am somewhat of a novice in the upgrading department, and I was a little apprehensive to purchase something I was afraid would burn my computer up, but I took the chance and ordered this processor. I know I'm dealing with older technology here, but going from a single core (2Ghz) processor to a dual core (2.7Ghz) processor, provided my system(s) a nice boost. Everything runs smoother. The processor(s) usually run at 2712-2713Ghz, but once (I don't know why) the computer was running at 3Ghz. I have ordered this processor two times as I have two identical machines that I have upgraded. One computer has 2Gb of memory and the other has 4Gb of memory. The machine with the 4Gb of memory runs a little hotter (50c to 60c during the day when the ambient temp is higher, vs 40c to 50c at night) but I guess that is to be expected. The machine with 2Gb of memory runs day/night between 40c to 50c. I can't afford, nor do I really "need" a more powerful computer at the moment and for the price, this worked perfectly.
