JENSEN MP5010K AM/FM/CD/MP3 Player Detachable Faceplate
    Mar 30, 2016
    JENSEN MP5010k 240 watt CD/MP3/WAV/CDA/Radio
THE GOOD: A lot of power. With most of todays decks only providing 50 watts at 22 to 18 watts RMS, this baby sports a whole 240 watts of clean power to drive 4 speakers. That's 65 watts a channel. Whenever I have replaced a stock stereo, I always found the after-market deck to be severely under-powered in comparison, either leaving my ears wanting more or having to purchase external amplifiers to make up for the missing power, which can be quite a hassle. Trying to find a place to position oversized amps and running long runs of wires for power, ground and speaker wires is not much fun. What's more impressive is this deck has also has RCA-type preamp outs for the front left/right, the rear left/right as well as a Sub woofer left & right, which all operate simultaneously with the decks amp, allowing you to power up to10 speakers if you do choose to add external amplifiers. The Sub's pre amp out allows volume control right from the deck's faceplate. This deck Also has an AUX In left & right via RCA connectors It has 10 radio preset buttons that also double as CD track numbers. It also has folder/subdirectory controls for CD's with MP3's located in separate folders which is quite handy. The folder name & track name is displayed in the quartz digital display, scrolling as needed to fit the entire name on screen. THE BAD: These Decks can get very hot, to the point that the faceplate is hot, not just warm, but hot to the touch. This is especially true in the summer. This just may be waht causes the failure I am about to explain. I have owned three of these over the coarse of the last 25 years. The stereo units themselves don't seem to last more than 5 to 7 years and the faceplates illumination in their quartz digital display seems to fail after 2 to 5 years, and although you can still see the display, you are left without a backlight, which left me buying a replacement faceplate. Even when the backlight is functioning properly, in daylight, it is difficult to read. At night it looks cool as hell. When the digitl display reads out the name of a song and/or folder, if the name contains more than 7 or 8 characters, the words must scroll from right to left, and this scolling action is quite slow, so be prepared to spend about 1 to 5 seconds fot the entire name to scroll on by. This deck Also has an AUX In left & right via RCA connectors. Beware though, this is not the same as a headphone jack that accepts an iPod or other portable devices such as a Android phone. I used an 'RCA to female' headphone adapter to try and accomplish this with mixed results. Some devices came through loud & clear, while others were very faint, requiring me to max out the volume which caused a great deal of hiss and missing frequency's due to the improper gain staging required. Not the best AUX in to say the least. In order to load a CD, you must push a release button that allows the faceplate to slowly lower out of the way. This is not a powered movement, so you must manually push it back into place after the CD is loaded. Not a big deal, till winter hits and it takes anywhere from 2 to 20 seconds to drop down, depending on how cold the temperature is. CONCUSION: All in all, this is a great deck with loads of features, many of which I did not explain here, and has plenty of power to go around. Considering the price of the Jensen MP5010k ($50.00 up to $100.00) it's hard to beat. but reliability is definitely a major downfall. That being said, I am about to buy my 4th one for $50.00 on eBay, making my total investment of about $280.00. Keep in mind that the $230.00 I have already spent, covers a span of about 25 years and three different vehicles, including 2 faceplate replacements. I have owned other brand decks with about the same failure rates, so to me its been a wash of good and bad. I also not a big fan of change, so using the same deck in all my cars is a decision of convienience as well. Hope this helps with your decision.
DEWALT DWE575DC Dust collection adapter for DWE575/DWE575SB
    Feb 04, 2020
Good, not great, but woth having.
I put this on my DeWalt 60v 575 Cordless Circular saw, and it installed quite easily, but this attachment is an obvious afterthought considering how much fine dust escapes. I suppose it has more to do with the saw's design more than this dust port, considering that the saw is open around the center of the blade. It does capture about 70% of the dust and it only allows the fine dust particles to escape, , so it is worth having, but it won't keep your work area or your lungs dust free. There is an extra opening on the dust port that allows the saw to function as normal if you are not using a vacuum, but I found placing tape over the hole when using the vacuum helps isolate the suction better. Since the dust port is wider than the blade guard, the kit comes with a offset handle (to replace the factory handle) that attaches to the lower blade guard. This can make pulling back the blade guard a little more difficult to reach from the back side of the saw, but it is manageable. Overall, I'd say it does work well, but not excellent.
Pittsburgh Steelers NFL Custom Painted Wood Sign.

Pittsburgh Steelers NFL Custom Painted Wood Sign. IT FELL APART AFTER 2 MONTHS!
the logo and letters ALL fell off due to the poor quality of glue used. Now, instead of having a cool Steelers sign, I have a wooden circle and a pile of letters.
