Ghost Glock G42 Extended Slide Release
I had issues with the Ghost Extended Slide Release. I bought it for my Glock G42, which was test fired by Glock in May, 2014. I installed the Ghost ESR and checked function by inserting empty magazines into the gun with the slide forward. I used 3 magazines. One of the Glock mags that came with the gun, #33249, a Glock mag marked 33249 03 and an ETS 7 round mag. Both Glock mags would lock the slide back, but push the slide stop out away from the frame. The ETS mag would really push the slide stop out away from the frame. Also, with the ETS mag, the slide would not lock open at all, but would start forward about a 1/4 of an inch and lock up. I replaced the factory slide stop and noticed the slide stop would push out away from the frame about the same distance as the Ghost would push out. Using the ETS mag with the factory slide stop, the slide stop pushed out a little more than the factory mags did. I left it for another night. I got on Ghost's website and sent a message explaining the issues I was having. That's been at least 2 weeks ago and I have heard NOTHING from them. When I came back a couple of days later to try again, I started having one of the Glock mags not lock the slide open. I started comparing the two parts and taking measurements with a dial caliper. It appeared as though the lip that engages the mag following was a little higher on the Ghost than the Glock release. I attempted to bend it down, very carefully, and it broke off. I wasn't surprised and knew the attempt might end in a broken part. I have since ordered a competitors extended slide release and am awaiting it's arrival. I am disappointed it didn't work as I vey much liked the little nub on the slide release.

Helpful gadget.
I bought this to see if it is easier for my wife to rack the slide on the Glock G42. She likes it. It does make racking the slide easier for her. Installation is fairly easy. I had to use my Glock pin punch tool to depress the spring loaded bearing, the piece that you see pushing the slide cover plate. The spring loaded bearing has to be depressed so the slide racker will slide ALL the way into place. Once in place, I pulled down on it to ensure it was locked in place. I shot the gun about 4 magazines worth of ammo, using practice FMJ ammo. No malfunctions. It does look a little different on the back of the slide. The width is a little wider than the slide, so the gun possibly might not seat fully in some holsters. The extra width is what makes grabbing and pulling the slide easier. I recommend it and am glad I bought one.

S&W Shield Grip Plug
I have a 40 cal Shield. The one negative is the 7 round magazines will not seat and lock into the frame because the magazine sleeve contacts the grip plug. The plug extends slightly below the frame. I removed the magazine sleeves. The other option is to remove plastic off of the top, rear of the sleeve. The plug does not interfere with the 6 round magazine. I suspect the 8 round 9 mm magazines will have the same issue as the 7 round 40. Good fit. Looks well made.
