Very sharp and picks up as much detail as a professional lens
1 of 1 found this helpful I use this lens for shooting flowers close up. I mount it on a Olympus E pl5 body with an adapter and a couple of extension tubes. It is very sharp and picks up as much detail as a professional lens. For my use, it has become my go-to lens for still life macro photography. I have used a few other lenses for this specific application and it to my best choice so far.
I would recommend this lens for anyone who is familiar with using older manual, prime, lenses on a digital camera for still life photography in limited lighting. In the situations I use this lens for, low ISO 200 or less. I have no need for a fast shutter speed since I use this lens exclusively when my camera is stationary and I am using a remote shutter release.

Fits Like A Glove
I needed a replacement cap for my Tamron lens. So I ordered this one, This cap is very sturdy and fits like a glove.

A very nice compact, and well built digital lens
Some people say that this lens does not focus quickly. It seems to focus very fast on a Olympus E PL-5 with the firmware updated. I am used to mounting older OM lenses on my E PL-5 so having AF is a luxury. I needed a 50mm AF MFT lens to walk around.
The lens is well built, small, light, and focuses very quickly. I will gave to get used to the electronic zoom but zooms quickly. I prefer to have control over all of my lens functions so it could have done without it, in my mind.
Picture quality is good on my camera. It's as good as any other digital lens. Sharpness and detail is acceptable for a zoom lens. I wish Olympus would produce an affordable 50mm prime AF lens.
Overall, I would rate this lens at 9+ because I got a really good deal on it, but if paid full retail on it...well I wouldn't pay the the 5 bills that I often see it selling for. So if you see it for 250 or less, buy it!
