Speedy Sharp useful but with limitations
I would NOT recommend this product for maintenance of valuable blades. However, it does remove an impressive amount of material. Thus far it has worked well on hatchets, machetes, lawnmower blades and a host of other edged tools which do not require precision. Additionally, the Speedy Sharp is probably the best ferro rod striker I have ever used, even on cheap import rods with sub par compositions. I have even experimented with fabricating improvised cutting tools with found metals and the Speedy Sharp makes speedy work of creating a usable edge. Again, I would not put it to work on a blade I really on on a daily basis unless left with no other option but it has proven itself a useful tool nonetheless.
