A good strong cord lead.
I bought this (together with a red one) for my Golden Retrievers (38 kilos each) as a replacement for a Large dog Flexi cord lead which after 7-8 years all weather use the retraction spring had given up the ghost. I was very disappointed to find that large dog cord leads are no longer available - only tape ones. I already had 2 tape ones put to the back of the cupboard for 10+ years for emergency use only since in any form of wet weather or wet grass the tape soaks up water becoming too heavy for smooth retraction so not for use in the English climate. So I bought these two cord leads for Medium dogs (20 kg ) and they seem fine with my large ones - both dogs have been stopped mid cat chase successfully without any damage to the leads but only time will tell - maybe they might need replacing in 5 years or so but that's acceptable wear and tear for 3 walks a day.
I've used Flexi leads with my pairs of Goldens for 20+ years and they have always been reliable and these seem no different - just a smoother shape but just as functional. I don't use any of the lead add-ons as I have pockets!
