Not exactly as made out to be.
These were noted to be armored when indeed they are chromed plastic. They do not have a metal protective housing of any kind.

They work really well!
If you would desire the eliminate your rat/mouse problem, then this is the product that does just that.
Don't waste your money on other electronic sound makers or shockers. I have purchased many different type that just didn't accomplish the task.
I have found only one problem with this type of trap, which is that you find yourself always having to empty them.
