Canon 1.4x extender III, a nice piece of kit...
A very useful addition for Canon owners who use 'L' series lenses. I'll stand corrected, but I believe this extender will only work with 'L' series rather than than standard Canon lenses, and even then not all 'L' lenses. To make sure it's suitable for your needs it would be best to check the compatibility on the Canon website.
All of that said this is brilliant piece of kit which works particularly well with lenses which have a large aperture, a 70-200mm f2.8 L for example. With any extender you are going to lose at least one stop of light entering the lens, so in my example the 70-200 would in effect become an f4 lens rather than f2.8. The 'big brother' to the 1.4x is the 2.0x, and whilst this will double the length of your lens, it will also reduce the aperture by two stops. Personally I think the 1.4x is a better compromise between lens length and aperture size.
It's also worth remembering that if you use this extender in conjunction with a Canon APS-C (half frame) body you will also benefit from the 1.6 increase in magnification due to the crop sensor.
A 100mm lens x 1.4 x 1.6 = 224mm.
Purchased via the Canon website the 1.4x extender retails at nearly £400, hence the reason why used examples command such high prices. Buy wisely and you won't be disappointed...

If your PMR radio and Autocom are sited some distance apart (up to 900mm) you will need one of these extension leads.
It appears to be a well made product with watertight DIN plug connectors, but don't get too excited, it is after all only a radio extension lead! It's not going to change your life, make you more attractive to the opposite sex, or provide endless subject matter for after dinner conversations...

No more ugly 'U'-bolt clamps...
I have been a fan of RAM Mount products for some time, principally for attaching motorcycle accessories, GPS units, bike2bike radios, mini-cams etc. Such devices and their adjustable arms have normally been attached to a 'U'-bolt clamp, which itself attaches to the handlebars or the frame of the bike. The use of 'U'-bolt clamps can often be 'fiddly' in confined spaces and they are not the tidiest of fittings.
The Handlebar Clamp fitting overcomes both of these problems. To fit, you simply remove one of the handlebar clamp bolts and replace it with the ball fitting and one of the M8 bolts supplied, (you get three different length bolts in the pack). Once tightened (to the correct torque setting) it's job done, and your valuable accessory is now safe & secure.
If you chose to ride without your device fitted to the bike, you are left with an unobtrusive 1" ball fitting, no more ugly 'U'-bolt clamps.
An easily attached and tidy fitting. A highly recommended product.
