Good film but not HD
This is a great film that has probably been reviewed by many other people, so the purpose of this one here is just to warn potential purchasers that - despite what it says on the rear of the packaging - this is NOT presented in High Definition. To my eyes this looks like a straight copy of the DVD version. (It retains all the extra features that are present on the UK DVD, so that's one good thing I suppose). I haven't seen the US Blu-ray of this title, but it may be in HD unlike this German edition.
So, it's not "good value" to buy this Blu-ray as you get the same picture quality as you would on the cheaper DVD edition.

Classic 1970s US TV show
1 of 1 found this helpful Finally we have all the McCloud episodes all in one box set. This is a huge set so obviously have not watched it all yet but so far the picture quality is quite acceptable. There are no extras with this set (unless your count the four in one episodes which are on a separate disc) but it does come with subtitles. I tested this on the first episode and noticed that it's out of synch in some places - the subtitle comes up before the actor has spoken his or her lines. Haven't tested any other episodes but at least the subtitles are there for anyone who needs them.
Thankfully VCI have come up with the idea of placing the discs in a soft wallet enabling the consumer to easily slide the discs in and out of the packaging (see photos). Some multi-disc box sets cram several discs onto a very tight fitting spindle which greatly increases the chances of the discs cracking while trying to access them. The wallet set fits nicely inside the sturdy plastic case. It also has a cardboard slip case (which I forgot to take a photo of, sorry, but it simply replicates the artwork on the DVD box itself).
One last thing - if you're buying this outside of the North American continent you will need a multi region DVD or multi-region blu-ray player as these discs are region 1 'locked'.
So, "there you go" (as McCloud would say...)

A 'Bravo' release from Australian Warner Bros.
If you're planning on buying this release then the Australian edition is the one to get. The reason being is that the American 4K UHD release contains that disc only and a download code. The 4K UHD disc does retain the audio commentary from the blu-ray release of a few years ago but none of the other bonus features due to space restrictions caused by the higher picture quality. But this isn't a problem in Australia....buy it from that country and instead of a download code you get the 'old' blu-ray edition included as well as your 4K UHD disc. It doesn't say anything on the packaging about those bonus features being retained, but I've just put the disc in my machine and they're still present on the disc (along with the audio commentary again which, as previously mentioned, is also on the 4K UHD disc).
Why Warner Bros. have done it like this is a mystery as anyone who is 'in the know' is going to ignore the American edition and buy the Australian one. Apologies if this review doesn't contain any information about the film or its 4K picture quality as no doubt this is already covered by other reviewers elsewhere on the internet. This is purely information about what is included in this package.
