I am still hoping it gets better.
Bought for and by my 10 year old son, whom REALLY wanted this game!!!
First I got him the Nintendogs Book. And when the game came we made sure to get out the manual.
He had a very hard time getting his dog to learn it's name, and really wasn't interested after the first day. The whole first day I let him play way longer than I ever do just because he spent the entire time calling this dog. A few days later he tried again. He says he got the name down but I am not sure. He then spent another day trying to get it to lay down or sit. He says he can do it with the stylus but not verbal.
**as a parent it was extremely annoying to hear the same thing repeated for an hour. I really wanted this game for him, but i had to send him to his room to play. He does not choose to play this often, maybe only four times in the month or two we have had it. He chooses to play Lego Batman, he says nintedogs would be his second favorite. He also plays Super mario, and declines playing Professor Layton all together.
This game is TONS better than Nursery Pets, which we had first.

Love this book!
I checked this book out for my husband to read to the kids from the local library. I thought it was wonderful. When he said so too we decided to buy one and I bought it here the next day.
Has beautiful photo like illustrations of baby/parent combos of a different animal on each page. 1 sentence a page mean kiddos can read it themselves soon. Great meaning! Sentences like "I love my daddy because he protects me." " I love my daddy because he sings to me". Thought it was great to finally have something that agrees with me on appreciating what we have in our lives. Instead of focus on what we "want" in life!

Well worth the $6 I paid for it. : )
I bought this for myself, because I seem to have a hard time finding the right word sometimes. : )
I first thought after playing was, how is this going to help? The games are timed, and you need to go fast. I didn't get how that was going to put words I didn't know in my head. Now a couple weeks later, I am picking up words through the repetition. I like a few of the games more than others and play those repeatedly.
I have three children so I am not on it everyday as the game is set to challenge you to do. I also do not always complete my daily goal that it has set for me. That doesn't seem to affect my game playing, or the enjoyment. I like it, and as long as I am not too tired, I enjoy playing it a bit everyday.
