The Lost World by Irwin Allen is a classic
I've seen them all...even own most of the Lost World Productions but Irwin Allen's is my favorite...it made such an impression on me as a kid that I remembered it all through the years before LD, VHS, DVD, Bluray. What a treat to add this classic to my collection. Of course its not realistic...but I don't expect it to be...I actually applaud people like Ray Harryhausen and Irwin who did great things the hard way... As we approach the lost world by airplane a high isolated plateau comes into view, its not likely all of the monsters and savages could fit in such a small contained place but if they were down on the ground they would be all over the place and there wouldn't be a lost world to go to....I wondered how they got up there in the first place...such dynamic thrust of the earth would have certainly killed everything around and on the ride up...but I'm thinking to much...its not suppose to make sense.. This movie was made on the threshold of women's lib...they got by with the weaker sexed female, tight blouse, stretch pants,...helpless, falling down and screaming all the time..holding everybody up... in my opinion the monster should have eaten her...boy times have changed reversing the weaker link as dim witted men under the heel of some domineering female.... No digital magic here...real actors, real sets, real animals...an era in movie making thats long gone...today you don't know whats real and whats not... No sex, no nudity, no profanity, family friendly, plenty of action, vivid color, and a lot of imagination.....I love this movie and hope you do to.

A Mix of Super Hits To Enjoy Again and Again
Dolly Parton's life is a true Cinderella story, she left behind her beloved Smokey Mountains to follow a dream that led her from rags to riches. Many of her songs are based on true to life experiences such as Coat of Many Colors and Apple Jack and thats what Country Music is suppose to be all about. Dolly sings from the heart and her listeners will experience her passion as they listen to her tell her stories through a genuine God given talent that will never be duplicated. This set of songs gives listener's a mix of Dolly's early country ballad era and then songs from her 80's movie career days. I will always love you from The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas was a smash hit but so was Jolene two unique styles by the same artist, Dolly is certainly versatile and her music is accepted and adored in all music realms. You will play this tape again and again and each time you'll enjoy it as much as the time before.

THE BENEFITS OF DVD VS VHS / NO COMPARISON
Words to ponder if your considering a Star trek collection on VHS tape. Be aware that those attractive gray collectors cases that house VHS tapes will require about 16 feet of shelf space. I know this from experience by owning the entire STAR TREK THE NEXT GENERATION on VHS. The cardboard collectors boxes have a tendency to come unglued allowing dust, moisture and air to effect the quality and life of VHS tape. Some of my STTNG tapes are starting show color fade, waving on playback and making some disturbing noises on rewind. The only good thing I can say about VHS is that the entire series cost about $100.00. I doubt that the tapes will last for many years and I will eventually have to replace them with DVD. One word of warning about DVD"S be sure to ask seller where the disc's were manufactured. I bought Voyager season 3. When the DVD's arrived I noticed they were made in Mexico. Everything seemed OK until I played disc 3, to my dismay the sound track did not match the video. Four episodes were messed up. I have learned that American made DVD'S are better quality. So learning from my mistake I am now collecting the Star Trek Voyager series on DVD. The cost is nearly triple that of VHS but the DVD's if handled with care should never wear out. The plastic cases that enclose each DVD is the best protection available today and the entire series requires about 8 inches of shelf space. I'm pretty tight with my money but clearly I see DVD's as a one time investment for a quality product that will more than likely outlast me. One more A+ is the dollar value for all the Star Trek series will increase in value. fedman49
