Typical modern OO gauge item
2 of 2 found this helpful This loco works weel and is typical of items produced in these days originating from China. The motor runs well and uses far less current than the old ones did. However the high percentage of plastic used does give the item a limited life expectancy. The longevity of the old Hornby items will be lost but it works well, I used it as a basis for making a radio controlled version and got batteries and receiver into the tender with no problems. I bought a Mallard and a P2 with similar tender size and have converted those as well

GOOD SOLID VINTAGE DECK
This is a typical vintage 1970's deck and in those days they were made to last, At that time the best sound was always from vinyl records and the audiophiles of the time were quite critical of the equipment available,e. Hence the heavy turntable and robust construction. It was downhill thereafter and so ythis is the best age to buy.

Dyson DC04SL Bagless Upright Cyclonic Vacuum
Hithertofore I have used the old DC01 ....the original Dyson. This one has more suck and the plastic is ....mostly at any rate more robust. The idea of the tools being fastened on is a good one as when loose they either get lost or try and get inside the machine. This makes slightly less noise from the motor but, when cleaning a carpet it is more noisy and really has a go to get the bits up..... A bit of a 'no compromise' machine which has super cleaned the carpets.....old one was not so good on the brush and this seems to have some sort of built in clutch to stop the belt shredding if anything gets jammed in it......excellent machine and well fit for purpose
