Stuff you soccer fans never knew you needed to (or wanted to) know!
This is a must-read for all American soccer fans. This book covers soccer in the US from it's beginnings up to 2002 and beyond. It goes a long way to explaining the reasons the sport here has been in and out of step with the rest of the world over the years. Lots of nice details about the people, places and leagues that shaped the sport for us. It tracks soccer through American history in relation to our other major sports in a fascinating way. We have forgotten our soccer roots. Wangerin has done the work to bring this information back to us, and there is a lot to learn from it.

Excellent book
Very interesting book.
Lipton was an amazing figure in history.
This is not only a book about the America's Cup, which it does explain an important phase in Cup history, but it is more a book about how a worldwide business was created and the history of retail and merchandising and marketing.
