Easy fix for damaged threads.
Used this kit to restore 100+ year old door knobs that had stripped out and egged out as they loosened on square spindles. Kit was easy to use - drilled out the old threads, ran in the thread tap by hand, spun in the helicoil and snapped off the tang. You will need to provide a drill (preferably a drill press) and a tap wrench. Threads are stronger than the original threads.
