Asimov stories at their best
Hard to go wrong with Isaac Asimov, who was a long time Grand Master of science fiction. This book is an excellent collection of Asimov short works, spanning from the 1940's to the 1980's. The book's title is taken from the short story Robot Dreams, a Locus poll winner and a finalist for the Hugo and Nebula awards.
In my paperback edition, I did not see a subtitle or a story "Remembering Tomorrow". The WorldCat web site does not show this term associated with Asimov's book Robot Dreams. Perhaps another reviewer will know where "Remembering Tomorrow" comes from.
The 1990 Ace mass market paperback edition has a 9-page introductory essay by Asimov, followed by 384 pages of the stories. The list of stories in this book:
Little lost robot --
Robot dreams --
Breeds there a man? --
Hostess --
Sally --
Strikebreaker --
The Machine that won the war --
Eyes do more than see --
The Martian way --
Franchise --
Jokester --
The Last question --
Does a bee care? --
Light verse --
The Feeling of power --
Spell my name with an S --
The Ugly little boy --
The Billiard ball --
True love --
The Last answer --
Lest we remember .
Bottom line, if you enjoy top-notch science fiction stories, you should greatly enjoy this collection of Asimov stories.
