Foreigner - Head Games (1995) - Used - Compact Disc

The last good Foreigner album

I consider Head Games to be as good as Foreigner and Double Vision. These first three albums by the group are their best. Head Games has a little harder sound than the first two, but still has that honest feel that later albums lacked. By the time '4' came around, the slick production and lack of acoustic elements gave Foreigner a more hollow sound that did well commercially, but left me feeling let down. Don't pass this one up!

The transition continues...

I originally owned this album back in the early '80s when it came out. I liked it, but didn't like that the drums were more synthesized and the sound was less acoustic and overly polished sounding. Many years passed and I decided to finally buy the CD. The drums don't bother me as much, since so much of today's music has moved in that direction anyway and I've grown accustomed to it. Passionworks was a pretty solid effort, and definitely better than the pop garbage that Heart followed it up with. Not at the level of Heart's first two albums, but then again, how many albums in history are that good? Favorite songs on this album for me are Allies, How Can I Refuse, and Love Mistake.
