Very cool Beat Buddy
Very versatile for either creating and exploring various song ideas or for performing. Built with great quality. Rugged. Easy to work with. And you can even adjust the settings to have a 'drunk' drummer, if you want.

Tyros5-76 Excellent keyboard.
1 of 2 found this helpful Great keyboard feel. Sounds, and there are a ton of them, are amazing. The keyboard's capabilities and expandability are great. The possibilities are almost endless. This is a super keyboard for both performing live and for in the studio. The backing accompaniments are outstanding and easily tailored to performing and for just messing around in the studio, experimenting with various genres and styles, or recording.
Not all the controls are particularly intuitive (at least, for me), but spending some time with the very clearly written owner's manual and other documentation (there's quit a bit) helps pull everything together so that it makes sense. There were, and still are, some 'aha!' moments.
Those were the 'pros'. I could find no 'cons', with the possible exception of the cost. The Tyros5 is pretty pricey; but, to me, it is well worth the money.

GT1000 - Many great tones & effects,'tone junkie' heaven, sturdy.
5 of 5 found this helpful Very extensive onboard collection of permanent tone patches for every music genre. Top notch effects. The patches can be easily modified, and saved, to get just the tone you're looking for. Easy to create your own patches from scratch, too.
The patch and effect editing process, and the controls, are very similar to those of the Boss GT100; so, if you're upgrading from a GT100, the learning curve is not steep, at all.
If you've never used a GT100, then your learning curve will be a bit steeper. But, I found the instructions fairly easy to navigate and understand. There is a ton of documentation. The GT1000 is deep. Almost every parameter is tweakable. So, if you're a tone junkie, like me, you'll appreciate that.
Also, like the GT 100, the GT 1000 is built like a tank, like most, if not all of BOSS products.
