Feels good in the hand.
2 of 5 found this helpful Revise this review. Later found that a bearing was bad and causing intermitment casting problems. A new bearing cured the problem and the reel works fine. It did take a while to diagnose the problem because it happened about 80% of the time, but ultimately it was corrected.
I've fished for over 60 years, and this is one of the most difficult Daiwa reels I've ever had in terms of trying to fine tune the spool tension and magforce. (Not counting the the very early models that used bushings instead of bearings)
Everytime you think you got it "down", you get backlashes. It will try your patience. (And no the adjustments are not moving and I'm always using the same weight, line, etc. and setup procedure I use on all my reels, the reel has been cleaned oiled etc)
It is smooth, feels good in the hand, etc. But as with any reel if you can't cast and adjust it easily it is not worth the time and aggravation.

Great. Don't lube without it.
It is great. Saves your hands and knuckles and makes greasing easy. The XL is great for those zerks just out of reach on lawn mowers etc. Made my lubing much easier.
