Golden Mummies
Imagine going out into the desert and digging for week for a burial ground described in some obscure text and finding nothing. Now your donkey runs away so you have to chase him down. On the way back the donkey suddenly stops and refuses to go any further. You get off and discover a hole in the sand in front of the donkey. You stare into the hole and see a gold mask looking back at you (the one on the cover of the book). That is how this burial ground for Roman age Egyptians was found. Amazing story and even more amazing once you discover the extent of the burials.

Dr. Hawass is an amazing archeologist. The book gives first hand accounts of his digs in Egypt and the amazing discoveries his team has made. Well worth the money and the read.

Excellent alternative to hearing aids.
My 94 year old mother finally had to give up hearing aids because to get them loud enough to work all she heard was feedback. She wore them for five years but they had to go. The hearing aid people suggested a hearing amplifier so I checked them out on line. The Pocket Pro was just what she needed. I got the model that has an over the ear speaker because my moms' hands are not nimble enough to put an ear bud in. The thing works beautifully. At dinner she can put the speaker in the center of the table and hear all the conversations at her table and she in engaging in conversation. I think a remote speaker wire would help because then she could put it next to the TV speaker and hear her shows. She lives in a retirement home so cranking up the volume on the TV or radio is not an option.
