A good investment.
I purchased 2 used / open box for $20 each and they work fine and have no visual blemishes. At this price, I think these are a great value and will pay for themselves in a few years. Previous to these, I was using the onboard rheostat on the baseboards which was pretty much a freeze or fry scenario in practice. These allow for much more sophisticated control. At the retail price of ~ $51, you'd probably need to be a young-un looking to own the place for a long time for these to pay off, but then again, they'll help sooth your green conscious if your so equipped.
