Classic does not mean "the same". The new meaning of "classic" is cheap!
What I really wanted was just a replacement of the cutting mechanism as I had an original classic and the cutter stopped working. I ordered the "classic" model thinking I would get the original cutting head. Unfortunately, the whole can opener was very cheaply made.
The cutting head is all plastic, and does not operate smoothly at all. My old one worked great! Too bad this one is called the "classic" as it certainly is not.
