Careful with this repair, a light hand is needed.

Leave the back cover on and be very careful about the temperature (the front lid can warp), use the suction cup to start the removal process. Just cut the old (the unit must be off!) the touch screen connector off, clean up the mess, now remove the back. You need to have patience and keep every thing clean (no dust or hair) when installing the new touch screen.
