Great Product, Lousy Customer Service
2 of 2 found this helpful The dvr+ does everything it is supposed to - feels just like the 3 AT&T boxes I just got rid of in terms of the channel menu and recording / viewing procedures; picture is flawless with the Clearstream 2v UHD antenna I installed. I purchased the open box factory repaired dvr+, with a 1tb hard drive built-in directly from Channel Master - same warranty and it sells for $100 less than new ones. Paying Channel Master for the hard drive seemed more convenient than purchasing a new one and syncing it to their machine, and the cost was virtually the same as having bought another hard drive at Costco or Amazon. The unit arrived in a few days in a sealed package with an inspection tag and number. Word of caution... do not expect support from Channel Master. I sent them a question regarding poor reception of the internet channels they tout as available through the dvr+ and I got back a useless message indicating ... "we are sorry but we cannot (interpreted as "will not") help you". Luckily the issue was worked out and I did not need any further communication with Channel Master. I do concur with one reviewer that the remote could be more substantial in size and design - not bad, just could better, too thin and slippery. The dvr+ has had only one reboot type failure where the unit froze went dark suddenly and eventually rebooted.
In summary... I feel good about the purchase and am thrilled to have cut the cord from the never ending price creep of Cox Cable and AT&T, as we've had both providers and they both offer 300+ channels of which 280 are complete crap. With the dvr+ we can still record 95% of what we were recording before going to over the air / over the internet tv.
