Inexpensive, but does the job.
This will be the 3rd alternator of this type that I've bought. All three have lasted about a year on my stock '99 GL1500SE. I have no extra accessories that would put any extra strain on the alternator. So I can only conclude that the quality isn't up to standard for this style. Now granted I live in central Florida, so the heat may be a factor. The only other complaint is the oil seal is ever too large and if your not careful it can be damaged during installation. I had to take the old O-ring off and use it on the new one. If your alternator went out, and you can't afford $230 this will work till you can save up for a good one.
