throwing hatchets just right
After a teenage grandson broke wooden handles out of all three of our hatchets (on a working farm) during a summer visit, rather than totally eliminate his enjoyment of an outdoor activity, we decided to look for an alternative tool. These throwing hatchets are just the ticket. When he visits he can throw these at targets and stumps to his hearts content, and we don't have to worry about him breaking any more tools we use around the farm. They are just the right weight, well balanced, and the cord wrapped handle makes them easy to hold and throw. They fit securely into the protective sleeve for storage or transport. The honing and edge on them at arrival is plenty sharp for target throwing, and they appear to be easy to sharpen, although we haven't had to do so yet. He thoroughly enjoyed them at Christmas, and since they will stay here, all the grandchildren can utilize them, if they wish, when they visit. This was one of my best investments of the year.
