I was blown away by the sensitivity of this camera, its been 5 years since getting a camera and all my cameras have been backed up at night with infared, this one being a always colour camera, i was a bit sceptical.
but was very surprised how little light is required to get a really good picture.
If your still running 1080p cameras like me , this is the one to go for.

Good quality lense at a very good price, a realistic canon equivalent
1 of 1 found this helpful About 5 months ago I borrowed my friends Sigma EX 100 mm - 300 mm F/4.0 Lens as my canon 100 – 400 L class lens was being serviced, I had my doubts about the lens because of the price comparison and the fact that canon have a good following of people who buy there lenses for a reason, that reason being quality of the pictures and the quality and craftsmanship of the lens.
The first thing that took me by surprise was the quality bag you get with the lens; the second was the weight of the lens.
Once I got it out the bag I was blown away by the finish of this EX model lens,
This thing was built to last, with firm but positive focus and zoom adjustment through the whole range.
I attached it to the camera and took dozens of sample photographs to test the lens out.
Having a big garden with plenty of wildlife and a variety of shooting situations over the whole scope of the lens I pushed it to the max to try and see if the lens was up to it.
I was very surprised with the results considering this lens is not image stabilised like most of my other canon lenses.
The auto focus was vey quick and quite, and was only fooled on the odd occasion whilst shooting subjects in long grass, this is not uncommon even with lenses twice or more the value of this lens.
After uploading the pictures and scrutinising them for some time the conclusion in brief is I would not be able to tell the difference between this lens and the canon on at least 90% of the shots.
And yes I know the canon is a 400mm and this a 300mm but the fact remains up to max 300mm of the sigma lens the results I obtained were almost identical/ sharp even at f4 getting very sharp indeed around f5.6
I am not saying this is as good as the canon 100 – 400 L lens but for the price it’s a fantastic lens that gives crisp colourful shots in a wide spectrum of situations.
The only very slight niggle with this lens is the weight after spending an hour shooting with it I knew I was carrying a lot of glass.
Conclusion: worth every penny and would not hesitate to purchase a sigma lens in the future.
