Works as it should
These banana plugs work as they should. 4 stars instead of 5 because it is easy to overtighten and pinch out the rubber o-ring.

Bass to spare!
Use this in a 5.1 system with polk satellites. You really have to judge performance in 2 different categories: movies & music.
MOVIES- This is where the sub shines. Creates lots of low end rumble for explosions & sound effects. This sub produces plenty volume without distortion. It literally vibrates the floor (wood).
MUSIC- This is where the sub falls a little, and I mean a LITTLE, short. The bass is not as tight as a sealed sub. Definitely turn down the volume to avoid boominess. However, once you get it balanced with the rest of your system for music, it still sounds really good.

Disappointed with XLR
I purchased this, specifically for the XLR outputs, to use in my school's sound rack. However, when I connected it to the powered mixers (Yamaha & Behringer) via the XLR outputs, the sound was WAAAY hot (output signal was peaking even with gain levels turned to zero) I tried two different mixers with the same result. The RCA connections worked properly. I am not sure if this is a malfunction of this particular item, or a design flaw in general. I now use it in my bedroom via the RCA connections. There are several options that's available via remote only; however the remote is wired, which basically defeats the purpose of a remote. The very basic functions are available using the buttons on the unit itself (play, stop, skip, pause, open/close, power).
