Mora of Sweden Companion MG Heavy Duty Carbon Steel Knife Morakniv 11746
    Dec 16, 2015
Shaving sharp right out of the box!
I owned a Mora knife many years ago and managed to lose it somewhere along in my travels. I bought this one on a hunch that, even at the low price and carbon steel's propensity for rusting, it would be a starting point for finding the type and makeup of the "perfect" utility/camping knife for me. The knife has been elevated from "starting point" status to "this is the end of the search, already!!" knife for me!! It will chop smaller saplings, hold up under light to medium batoning, and breeze through very fine shaving of tinder and feather sticks and doing very light delicate carving that would normally require the use of a much smaller knife. The only negative comment I have is the Kydex sheath. It is a personal dislike of mine to have a plastic sheath or holster on any of my weapons when we still have access to top quality real leather with which to build our carrying receptacles.
Osborne 144-43 Stitching Awl with 1-1/4 Inch Diamond Shape Blade
    May 05, 2020
Best I have found for the money.
This stitching awl is probably the best buy for the price of any I have examined so far. The diamond awl, which comes with the tool, is not a very tempered type of steel and it may bend upon trying to pierce heavy leather such as 9-12 oz. thicknesses. It does NOT have an adjustable "chuck" as some do and it cannot be loosened and then tightened again. But I have not seen any mounted awls, which are under $50.00US, which will be of an adjustable chuck type. With those limitations in mind, the only other "adjustment" I made to my leather awl was to remove the laquer finish, [a habit I picked up from experience of using a smooth finished tool and treating blisters after using it for an extended period of time] and also I flattened one side of the wood handle so it wouldn't roll off of my workbench. In fairness to the wording of the questions about the awl, eg., "Is it of good quality?", I have to say that it IS about the best quality one can find for the price. Most of Osborne's tools are of a higher quality than any on the market but this is only an entry level awl, [in my opinion]. And it is as good as any I have seen for overall quality, value, and price, and I would definitely recommend it for anyone, who hand sews their leather as long as they take the time to properly sharpen the awl blade prior to use.
NcStar Tactical Shotgun Scabbard Black CVSCB2917B
    Apr 23, 2019
For the price, an excellent way to carry your personal defense shotguy!!
I thought that, for the price, I would get a mediocre scabbard for my home defense shotgun. Instead I received a heavy duty scabbard which is fairly comfortable to cross carry on a day hike or weekend camping trip and is dimensioned to fit my 500 Mossberg quite adequately. The only other thing that I would like on this equipment would be a carry handle somewhere in the balance area of the loaded scabbard for those times when hand carrying is more convenient or more comfortable and a cross carry will not clear my loaded pack frame.
