    Great machine
    So let's cut to the chase. 1. Can you squat past parallel on this machine? With your feet flat on the floor,the answer is yes. The machine actually has two holes to choose from for the stop position in it that allows the bar to travel further if you want to deep squat. I'm not really sure you can see that in the actual picture. You can also use that angle plate which I did but I actually prefer to stand flat-footed on the floor, it is just more comfortable for me. I am 6'1"by the way. 2. Does it totally feel the same as squatting freestyle? The answer is no. And this is my opinion. But nothing is going to be the same as a freestyle barbell squat because in the latter you have to control everything from start to finish. That is not a dealbreaker for me because I have back issues and it's just one less thing for me to have to worry about. 3. Does the rounded calf bar make a difference? The answer is not really, but that's a matter of preference I have a standing calf machine that has a flat bar and to me I get a good work out either way. It really is just a matter of preference, and your comfort level. Conclusion, Overall it's a great machine, and it is very well made. It took me a couple workout sessions to really get the feel of it trying to squat flat-footed and also using the angled platform, After that I am pretty sure you will enjoy it.
