Wrong book
It is well written but not what I quite expected. I was hoping for a number of tales about the west. It was limited to a small handful of diary records, but very detailed. I did not research the book well enough. Schindler and Bagley are among the best Western authors of our time. It was my bad.

Oven temp check
Do a lot of baking, needed a gauge to make sure the temp in the oven was accurate. Handy little item.
