Personalized Custom Carbon Fiber License Plate Frame

    Very nicely done
Very nicely done plastic license plate frame. At first I was disappointed because this just fits over your license plate and does not actually hold it in a slot or under tabs, but given that you use four screws to secure the frame and plate to your car, it is not a big deal. The printing is well done and appears durable. Glad I bought it!

Great device, but one fundamental flaw
This would be an excellent device for transferring camcorder video to DVD except for one silly limitation. It is easy to use and does a great job of transfer from pretty much any video or digital output. However, when you transfer hi-definition (HD) signal via the USB port, you can only burn single layer DVD's You cannot burn to dual layer. That means, at most, 30 minutes of HD instead of the 60 minutes you could get with a dual layer disk. Unfortunate move on Sony's part since you can use dual layer disks with non-HD video.

Putting more flesh on the Blackhawk Down story
Michael Durant is the pilot of the second Blackhawk that was brought down in the Somalia operation in the early 90's that was wondefully reported on in the book BLACKHAWK DOWN and then made into an excellent film of the same name. Durant's book retells much of the story, puts more flesh on already meaty bones and reveals some lone-hidden truths...especially about what the Somalies did to the bodies of fallen American soldiers and the deep resentment of at least some of the troops involved for the Clinton administration for "bugging out" afterwards. An excellent read for those interested in unvarnished military history from "a guy who was there". Also shows that the courage and loyalty described by Steven Ambrose in his series of books on WWII GI's is still there in today's army.
