Adjustable Driver Backrest + Mounting Kit For Harley 2009-20 Touring Glides

Ok for the price

I installed this backrest on my Road King. Immediately noticed the cable would not allow the cylinder to totally close. You can however adjust it at the lever but even then it was too short. Ultimately I found that the large nut at the bottom of the cylinder could be adjusted so the cylinder works. Next the mechanisms needed lubrication and some of the nuts tightened. It still does not hold position like the factory Harley unit but then again it’s 1/4 the cost and it is functional. Overall for the price it’s ok. The backrest stitching is not the best but hopefully it will stay together. The cost of the Harley back rest alone is more than this entire unit. All in all for under 80 bucks and a little work it gets the job done.

Great bargain

Bought this on a whim to install on my Concours 14. For under 28 bucks I didn’t expect much. I was surprised to find the quality was good and the install was very easy. I lubed the latching mechanism and it works smoothly. My 2XL Shoei helmet fits if carefully laid sideways. Long term durability remains to be seen but I see no reason it won’t do the job. And for 28 bucks what do I have to lose ?
