Reviews were right
The online reviews were very accurate. This is a good hose. It expands as it should and recoils when the water is turned off. It is nice to be able to store a 50' hose in such a small space.

I overestimated the capacity of these discs. They are for very light, fine work.

Front load system is great.
The front load feature is great. There is no need to plug the 9V battery in - it makes contact as soon as the access door is closed. This is perfect for high ceilings where height is a safety issue. The battery can be changed with one hand.
