Excellent color laser
This is my 2nd 2600n that I've purchased because the original that I bought for full retail price is still going strong after 6 years of use. I've had mostly Brother printers over the years but they have consistently cost me more, not only in toner but all of the other expendable parts too. So when I needed a new toner cartridge for my Brother MFC-9440cn, I looked at the cost of $85 to $120 for an OEM cartridge and decided that maybe I should just go with the tried and true. I really don't know about other HP printers but I can tell you that the 2600n (or the slightly newer 2650n) are reliable and produce excellent colors. They aren't multi-function printers, but they are workhorses that seem to go on forever. My wife has gone through 4 years of school and used our original printer almost every day and that was after me using it at work every day for 2 years! It still produces just as crisp image quality as the one I just bought. Print speed is almost twice as fast as my Brother both to start the print job, and per page.
