1 of 1 found this helpful Great spotlight cam if you pay the extra three dollars a device or $10 for all devices a month you can see the alert that goes and gets sent directly to your phone via the app if you do not pay for the app subscription then you will just get an alert saying there’s motion and then you will only be able to see what the motion is if you watch the live view it will not keep a record of it you will only see the live view and also I’ve noticed with all the ring devices I have there is a bout a 3 to 4 second delay from the time the The motion is detected to the time the alert is sent to your phone. there are other items out there that do not require a subscription and you can keep recordings and go back and see them for free the ring does not offer any of that for free only the live view but the quality of it is nice and if you’re willing to pay 10 extra a month for home security then it works decently but like I said it’s a bit pricey and I did not know about the subscription that is not required but it is required if you want to see alerts that have previously happened
