Worth the money? Absolutely!
We do not notice things that degrade slowly over a long time. Brakes on the car, the performance and so on .. the same occurs with lights ..
Over the life of a tube the light output and colour declines, all tubes do this, the time taken is the most variable part. Most tubes are rated for 1000 - 2000 hours ... but do you realise that is only 1 working year? (40 hours * 50 weeks = 2000 hours!)
The tubes I had in my work lamp (there are 2 tubes) had been in there for quite some time and, I had not noticed their output had decreased at all ... however they were getting more difficult to get started ... so I decided to purchase new ones ... and was totally amazed at the difference in output ... easy starting too ...
Impressed .. you bet ... so much so I bought another pair to replace them when necessary .. and ... wrote on the tubes fitted .. WHEN they were fitted ..
Price... excellent ... result a far better light output and easier starting.
