Replacement casings
Used to replace cases on good batteries with dropped, smashed outer cases. Managed to revive one to full power with a bit of messing about

Sony NW-HD5 20Gb/30Gb
Great piece of kit for anyone with a CD collection in the hundreds. Don't know why they ever stopped making it. Massive capacity using 'Atrac' compression without any loss in quality - but sonicstage will also import audio in other formats. Even better now they've introduced a conversion tool from Atrac back to mp3... (which you could't do originally, something to do with copyright litigation between Sony and whoever invents the other formats- I don't know how true it was) ...just in case you need to for any reason, instead of spending weeks & months re-ripping your 25 year-cd collection for use with virtual dj software or for the kids to load onto non-sony hardware. I use an old desktop with about 80Gb of total memory, so when I import in mp3 format I convert to ATRAC then delete the mp3 file in 'properties' to save space on my PC, as the mp3 files take up 2-3 times more space than the ATRACs. However with 160 - 320Gb of memory this wouldn't be an issue. Upgraded firmware and later versions of sonicstage have also improved its user friendliness. I'd advise getting a strong cushioned protective case as I've dropped one years ago, the pure weight of the thing can dent the aluminium case and cause permanent malfunction. If you've ever stripped one down you'll know what I mean! Everything's so tightly packed with awkward connector ribbons it's almost impossible to get one back together which makes a protective case a good investment. Everything considered, I've had 6 of these units since they came out and still own got four of these little beauties including a ltd. 30Gb version - I wouldn't have anything else! Simple logic controls and straightforward menus make it a must for the more mature user.
