Great for the price

I've used this for cooking in the oven (its original design purpose) and love the ease and convenience of knowing exactly when to take the roast out. However, per someones else's recommendation, I also used it for making maple syrup where accuracy (and precision) are critical. Here it falls short. Sometimes the temperature would read 215 oF when in actuality it was 217 degrees instead - which makes a big difference in candy and syrup making. I know that I am stretching the boundaries here ....
