Pentium 4 Prescott 3 Mhz processor
1 of 1 found this helpful Bought this to extend the life of a Dell computer that came to me with a 2.6 Mhz Northwood processor. The 3 Mhz Pentium® has worked since installation, although the computer has crashed more often than with the 2.6... Watch out if you are upgrading a Dell Dimension 8300, I've heard that the first motherboard that was shipped in that model will not take this chip! (My Dell 8300 had a later MB...)

AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800+ 2 GHz Processor
Bought one used. (no box) So far (after 2 weeks...) I've had no problems with the CPU, but right after I installed it, a 5-year old hard drive (the boot drive, natch...) crashed, so the chip had about a 5 day rest after only being on for about 5 hours. Once I cleared up the HD situation, the chip's been working fine!
I overclock chips, working up one step at a time - this 2 Ghz chip is now working at 2.03 Ghz, and will be gradually increased from that!
