Turns off if not paired
2 of 2 found this helpful The unit does work except for the following application. This unit was purchased to be an audio stream/feed (transmit) to Bluetooth devices such as headphones or portable speakers which may not be powered up all the time. The unit is in a kiosk and always plugged into a power supply and we need it to be transmitting 24 hours a day. The problem is if the unit is not paired with an active receiving device, it will turn off after a number of hours requiring it to be manually re-paired. I have changed to another brand unit which works excellently for my application.

Reason you should buy this Remote
As the original remotes are no longer available, the reason you should buy this control is to have the codes. The control itself works great but as any universal remote, the button placement is all wrong. The good news the buttons are correctly labeled and perform the desired functions :). All the DVR functions are on the bottom section making it almost mandatory to use both hands to hit the Play, Pause, FF, etc. buttons. For all of us that love the features on the Phillips DVR/DVD unit, this remote is the answer!! Importantly, use this remote to program the universal remote of your choice the way you want it as once your old Phillips remotes die or a button doesn't work, "Houston, we've had a problem".

Works with Western Digital's EX4100 Network-Attached Storage (NAS)
These supplies are being used with 4 WD EX4100 4-disk 12 TB raid-10 Network-Attached Storage systems as the secondary power supply with no problems. Also tested OK as the sole supply to the EX4100.
