  This Starrett center-punch set was definitely NOS (New Old Stock), as described by the seller. This was evidenced by the older-style sealed plastic bag the item in the factory box was shipped in, as well as the box itself - all in excellent condition. An odd thing, of which the seller could not be expected to have known, nor able to address, is the vinyl case for the tools had orange spots on it! This was probably related to whatever solvents or lubricants Starrett used in that period..
