About us

We are a family run business with a physical location in Southwestern Utah. We met here in Southwest Utah in 2017 and we married in December 2022. We share a passion for the outdoors and preparedness. In 2020 we decided to turn that passion into a business. Starting from the ground up, with an online store and weekend garage sales, The Generalists has grown with the support of the local community. In November 2022, The Generalist opened our first brick and mortar store in downtown Hurricane. Today, we strive to bring the latest and best survival and camping equipment, along with a wide selection of military surplus and first aid supplies to Southern Utah.

From seasoned professionals to curious novices, we hope you find our store helpful and instructive. We are always looking for suggestions for new products or topics our users would like us to cover, so please feel free to drop us a line!

    Really nice deal for this used 2 QT. Insulated Canteen Cover with Alice clips they were willing to negotiate on, it arrived fast and decently packaged.It was missing the two Alice clips though (needed to attach the pouch to Alice webbing). I contacted the seller, they immediately apologized for the missing clips and then at their expense, sent two out to replace them. Thank you for the fair pricing, prompt shipping and handling of my issue. 5 STAR sellers with me and I would buy from them again.
